How is kindle special offers
Kobo had always done it. Once they started the Special Offers ad in , all I did was call customer support and complained that the advertising was interfering with my reading experience and each time they did remove the ad.
It would be user controlled so you can limit what info you want to show! Good idea! When they were first releasing e-readers, people argued they were selling their devices so cheap because they wanted their profit to be in the content purchased, so the ad thing made a little more sense. I would definitely pay the Little things like that make big differences to me.
This morning, I nicely asked an Amazon customer service rep if she could remove the special offers from my Paperwhite for no charge, and she did it!! I contacted the support via the Amazon site and said I want to remove the Ads from my Kindle Paperwhite.
I have run into the kind of problem I hate. When I go to Amazon and select action beside my Kindle, there is no option to edit special offers. Every help page says to go there to turn this off but of course mine does not show this option.
Advertisements are never anywhere else, such as reading an ebook. The Special Offers program is only applicable to the base models and not the cellular versions. The advertisements are served from the Amazon Advertising platform and they have a dedicated landing page for the Kindle.
The company outlines all of the different image assets that can be used, such as banners, lockscreens and text based ads. They also break down the costs associated with it. When Amazon first launched the program that approached advertisers directly, so it would be populated with well known brands, such as Loreal.
Kindles with Special Offers launched in the US in and eventually expanded into other markets, such as the United Kingdom.
I fail to see the downside. Advertising may be the scourge of television, but on my tablet or e-reader, I'm fine with it. Be respectful, keep it civil and stay on topic. We delete comments that violate our policy , which we encourage you to read. Discussion threads can be closed at any time at our discretion. Why I'm choosing the Kindle with Special Offers Gripe all you want about Amazon's decision to incorporate advertising, but for me it's a simple question of dollars and sense.
